#Today I’m travelling to my hotel in #Brighton for my pre-release book tour. Just transferred at St. Pancras and hopped onto the ThamesLink now.

Apart from a small miscommunication with the taxi in the morning, it’s been all good tidings so far.

#WritersCoffeeClub 23 March: What's the most you've worked on a WIP before deciding to scrap it? What happened? Tough question, haven’t scrapped anything. I’ve shelved projects though, for possible future continuation, but don’t think I really scrapped anything. None of the shelved projects progressed beyond outline and maybe some loose ends, so they didn’t get very far yet.

#Today one of my ARC readers came back to me, describing Mrs. Cleyton as “A haunting odyssey of unspoken grief and guilt.”

Beautiful.

#WritersCoffeeClub 22 March: How do you organise your notes?

I have a multi-tiered note-taking system. Level 1 is the Notes app on my phone. It receives all kinds of random input.

Level 2 is a Notion doc where I collect the notes that I deem worthy of inclusion in a story.

Level 3 is the outline for a specific story, but where I don’t know yet where it fits exactly.

Some notes grow from level 3 and become part of the story, though sometimes I also have to downgrade them again.

Level 1 also acts as an inspiration pool for poetry.

None of this organisation is precise or guaranteed to be accurate.

Uhm, that implies I would have kept track which dates certain events occurred, no? So no, I don’t. Certainly not yet.

#ScribesAndMakers March 21: What everyday object would you photograph as if it were art?

I see the ones saying “any object”, but I feel it’s too easy to merely agree. For my recent marketing campaign I tried to spice things up by doing some amateur photography and posting them to Instagram with some captions. I’ll attach some of the unedited photos right here.

What do they have in common? They’re all something I feel a personal connection to, even if only momentarily. Sometimes I went out of my way to make it so, but others just strike me as something that belongs. Then I see the beauty in the simplicity and I take it from there.
