Almost every network that isn't decentralized has become a real threat to freedom of speech. A handful of hired bots — worthless, faceless algorithms controlled by corporations — can destroy any large account simply because: They spoke the truth They promoted decentralization They fought for humanity's right to freedom Think about where this is all heading. The algorithm shows you: 10-100K views and reactions on OnlyFans content Millions of impressions on gossip and celebrity nonsense Endless streams of useless entertainment But it HIDES: Articles about how your credentials are stolen Investigations into how corporations sell your data Content about digital dictatorship And when you try to share real information? You get blocked. Shadowbanned. Silenced. Who benefits from this? They do. The corporations. The elites. The ones profiting from your ignorance and digital slavery. This isn't free speech. This is surveillance and control disguised as freedom. Every centralized platform is a vulnerability. Every "free" service comes with a price — YOUR DATA, YOUR PRIVACY, YOUR VOICE. The solution is simple: Decentralize everything. That's why projects like Mastodon, Yacy, F-Droid, and other open-source, decentralized alternatives matter. They're not controlled by billionaires. They can't be shut down by corporate pressure. If you care about real freedom, you have to stop supporting systems designed to enslave you. Stop scrolling. Start thinking. Join the decentralized web. 🚀 This image highlights my love for the Mastodon network! The moment you publish important information for humanity, you become inconvenient for corporations. I've already been blocked 2 times on Twitter, 2 times on X, twice on Facebook, once on a Mastodon server, and 3 times on Instagram. It all starts when I, as a Ukrainian, post about things that concern me — for example, about forced mobilization of men in Ukraine — and suddenly bots hired by the authorities flood in with mass complaints against my account. Because it's an inconvenient truth that doesn't allow them to steal more money 😅 I was also blocked during COVID when I provided evidence that humanity was being deceived. Facebook and Instagram were the first to block my accounts. Why? Because Bill Gates and others wanted to make their billions, and many people like me were silenced — everyone who asked uncomfortable questions. That's why I, as a software developer, support everything decentralized. We create our own solutions and improve existing major projects. One of our recent initiatives is to completely rewrite the Yacy search engine for our needs. This is a decentralized network that gives freedom to users. Nobody will monitor what you search for. We also support the F-Droid team, which champions the right to free and open-source software. Join us! @dramypsyd@ohai.social Nextdoor is the perfect app to confirm just how crazy your neighbors really are. I gave up on it years ago. Like I eventually give up on most social media except this platform. I like not actually knowing if my #Mastodon friends are crazy, tho I suspect some are.

Mastodon has a new human-over-AI contribution policy.

tl;dr:

  • The human contributor is the sole party responsible for the contribution.

  • If AI was used to generate a significant portion of your contribution (i.e. beyond simple autocomplete), we require you to disclose it in the Pull Request description.

  • If you cannot guarantee the provenance and legal safety of the AI-generated code, do not submit it.

  • Cases of repeated violations of these … guidelines could result in a ban from our repositories.

Our Mastodon instance “burningboard.net” now internally ONLY uses the Internet Protocol in Version 6. I did successfully migrate away from any RFC1918 addresses in any of the internal infrastructure connections.

Nginx -> Mastodon: IPv6 Mastodon -> PostgreSQL: IPv6 Mastodon -> Opensearch: IPv6 Mastodon -> Sidekiq: IPv6 Mastodon -> Loki: IPv6 Sidekiq -> PostgreSQL: IPv6 Prometheus -> Mastodon: IPv6

All using globally routed unique addresses and proper routing and packet filtering from “pf” (FreeBSD).

Outbound connections to legacy hosts (for example for Federation) uses NAT64 over Tayga.

Inbound the Nginx is the only component, that supports IPv4 on NAT on a best-effort approach. But I refuse to put a lot of work into this. We have 2026 and it’s a dying, smelly protocol, that I don’t even monitor anymore.

If someone looks at the Firewall rules.. Yes, we do run a (private) Factorio Server on our Mastodon system :factorio:
